Nature of Work
Under the direct supervision of the district supervising engineer, this position performs professional engineering work within the Office of Environmental Health Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist water systems in achieving compliance with current and future agency rules, regulations, and operating procedures, with a focus on public water supplies regulated under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act.
- Conduct inspections, investigations, and evaluations of water and wastewater systems to protect public health and the environment.
- Review and assess engineering reports, plans, and project sites to ensure regulatory and environmental compliance.
- Provide technical and professional assistance regarding public health engineering concerns.
- Offer administrative and technical support for water and wastewater systems during catastrophic and emergency situations.
- Address public health and environmental concerns raised by the general public, public officials, and other entities.
This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work and requires full-time, on-site attendance.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Current Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by the West Virginia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
