What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Support Specialist Trainee - Financial Worker position at WV Bureau for Child Support Enforcement?
Nature of Work
In a training capacity, the employee will develop the skills necessary to perform entry-level financial duties related to auditing Bureau for Child Support Enforcement (BCSE) cases. These duties may be performed at either a BCSE Field Office or the BCSE State Office Financial Unit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing transactions for both caretakers and obligors.
- Verifying data in physical case files and in the automated database, specifically as it relates to the allocation and distribution of child and spousal support payments.
- Reviewing data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with BCSE policies, as well as federal and state laws.
- Learning to review legal documents and court orders to ensure accurate entry into the Child Support Enforcement automated system.
- Performing caretaker accounting to calculate amounts owed, overpayments to caretakers, and refunds to obligors.
- Providing financial case explanations to staff upon request.
This position is specifically for Financial Workers located in Greenbrier County.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: High school diploma or equivalent.
AND
Experience: Four (4) years of clerical and/or paraprofessional experience.
OR
Substitution: Successful completion of study from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at a rate of one (1) year of experience for thirty (30) credit hours of education.
Special Requirement: Availability of a vehicle for continuous use may be a requisite of employment.
Pay: $31,533.00 - $53,916.00 per year
