We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in automotive and heavy equipment repair, with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing various machinery and vehicles. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of machinery, including farm equipment, industrial machinery, and transportation vehicles, in a dynamic environment that values technical expertise and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractors, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and industrial machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and system inspections.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, transmission, suspension, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, welding repairs, and fabrication work as needed.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools to complete repairs efficiently.
- Perform vehicle maintenance including brake repair, tire service, alignment adjustments, and HVAC servicing.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used; ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with assembly of new equipment or machinery when required.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and professionally to clients or team members.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using schematics for diagnostics and repairs across various systems.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery safely.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions (including automatic), hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail; excellent mechanical knowledge across multiple systems.
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to heavy equipment operation or automotive repair are preferred but not mandatory. This position requires a motivated individual committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality while providing exceptional service within a fast-paced environment.
