We are seeking a talented, hard worker to join our team as a Pricing Specialist.

Our ideal hire will be accountable for maximizing sales and profits through accurate analysis on customer accounts based on product needs, usage, frequency and future purchasing capabilities. Review all requests for quotes from email, customer service, and inside and outside account managers.

ESSENTIALS RESPONSIBILITIES Include, but are not limited to...

Utilize probing techniques to qualify, profile, and establish rapport with customers. Perform analysis of customer accounts to determine competitive pricing based on product usage, quantity and frequency of purchases by utilizing sales reports to increase business by identifying industry trends.

Manages and monitors quoting efforts to ensure profitability and maximum return on time invested where: sales, customer service, customer relations and technical reps are involved.

Continuously monitor and refine quoting guidelines based on market conditions.

Creates and prepares spreadsheets, presentations and business correspondence for large quotes, national contracts and government bids. Apply company sales philosophy in conjunction with established pricing guidelines to determine customer pricing on volume quote requests.

Respond to customer requests for placing orders, researching products and high volume quoting submitted by fax, phone, and mail or in person. Follow up on all quotes, samples, new customers or literature requests within 3-5 business days. Assesses the profitability and quality of Sales obtained through quoting efforts. Read and file all vendor literature and internal memos within 2 days of receipt.

Meets with the Team Leader regularly to discuss results, opinions and strategies; as well as researches and analyzes the cost involved with processing orders to include administrative, handling and inventory costs.

Create solutions and discuss alternate options to satisfy customer needs in regards to products that have low margins.

Negotiate with vendors to receive discounted pricing on freight, handling etc. with volume accounts. Responsible for maintaining product knowledge, current market conditions and trends as well as the competition through the utilization of various resources such as reading pertinent literature, attending training classes, and working with the Product line managers.

Skills and Experience we like to see:

• Prior Experience in Pricing and/or quoting is a plus!
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel is a must with the ability to type proficiently 35-45 wpm.
• Experience in SAP is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Able to be organized, thorough and accurate.
