What are the responsibilities and job description for the Provider Support Specialist - Part Time position at Wu Yee Children's Services?
The Provider Support Specialist (Specialist) will support family child care educators (FCC educators) through training, Peer Learning Community (PLC), one-on-one site-based technical assistance to improve child care quality and to run a successful child care business. Emphasis will be placed on supporting FCC educators in developing knowledge and skills around the areas of business management, child development, and language and literacy.

Two positions available: Bilingual - English & Spanish / English & Cantonese
Non-Exempt - Temp position (6/01/2026 - 06/30/2026) up to - 29 hours per week.
Responsibilities Include:
Onboarding and Systems Integration
- Complete agency-wide and departmental onboarding to gain full proficiency in Wu Yee's operation tools.
- Establish a weekly reporting cadence with the supervisor to track progress against the temporary project roadmap.
Conduct 2 Peer Learning Communities on Business and /or Best Practices in Child Development in Spanish.
- Develop the content and create PowerPoint
- Conduct the presentation /PLC
- Facilitate the conversation during the meeting.
The total duration of each PLC session is 2 hours with 1.5 hours of prep. This includes pre-session(logging in 15 min early) and post-session debriefing /Q/A (10-15 minutes).
- The target audience for these PLC sessions includes, but is not limited to, Early Learning For ALL (ELFA) Family Child Care (FCC) providers, non-ELFA FCC providers, teachers and teacher assistants working at the FCC/ centers, and prospective FCC providers.
- Create/update flies and handouts that can be used on the day-to-day work to support Pre-start up FCCs and expansion.
- Maintain 100 % accuracy in data entry and compliance tracking according to departmental standards.
- Complete all outstanding projects tasks and deliverables and outlined in the initial project scope.
- Conduct a final knowledge-transfer meeting with the permanent team to review project outcomes and remaining action items.
- Perform a final qualify assurance check on all files, ensuring they are audit-ready and archived correctly.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills Required:
- Bilingual: English /Spanish or English/ Cantonese language required.
- Knowledge of family child care business development and requirements
- Experience providing training, PLC, and professional development using adult learning principles
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team setting
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to examine and interpret the high volume of documents
- Proficient in data entry and strong computer skills highly desirable (MS office Suite, and Google workspace, Asana is preferred.
- Must be flexible and able to work occasional nights and weekends including special events that are client-facing.
Education Required:
- Minimum 2-4 years’ of administrative or project coordination experience, preferably in non-profit or early education environment. Knowledge of family child care business development and requirements. Experience providing training, PLC and professional development using adult learning principles.
- Experience working with FCC educators ispreferred, and working in non-proft sector.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of MS Office Suite, Google Workspace; experience with project management software (e.g., Asana) is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The pay range for this position is $28.72 - $44.35. A new hire generally starts between $28.72 and $36.53. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skills sets, relevant experience, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
