The Chemistry Department at Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time Professor of the Practice in Chemistry starting July 1, 2026. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field in hand at the time of application. The successful candidate will take an active role in departmental instruction, teaching both lecture and laboratory courses, and contributing to a curriculum that reflects the diversity of contemporary chemical topics. The teaching load is 3-2, with sabbatical eligibility after ten semesters of teaching. Additional duties include advising and mentoring students and participating in faculty governance at both the departmental and university levels. Particular consideration will be given to candidates who have demonstrated success in working with diverse populations and whose academic background and teaching interests have the potential to enrich the department’s curriculum and contribute to Wesleyan’s interdisciplinary programs.
