About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Fitter to join our team. This role involves the assembly and installation of structural components for various construction and fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fitting and welding, with the ability to interpret bluepritns and work with precision to ensure structural integrity and safety.
Roles/Tasks of the Position:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, align, and fit structural steel components using hand and power tools.
- Perform welding tasks (MIG, TIG, Stick) to join metal parts as required.
- Assemble and secure parts using bolts, clamps, and welding equipment.
- Inspect and verify dimensions and alignment of parts using measuring tools.
- Operate cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment to position heavy components.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Abilities:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong welding skills with experience in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and levels.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools for metal fabrication.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational training program in structural fitting or welding preferred.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in structural fitting and welding.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS or equivalent) is a strong asset.
- OSHA or other relevant safety training is advantageous.

- Working in hot, humid environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Prerequisites/Requirements:
- Negative 10 panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test.
- Valid Driver's License and Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
