What You Will Do:
- You will oversee a team of Drafters (currently small, but you are responsible for growing it!), including hiring, training & management of day-to-day activities: including resource scheduling, quality control, delivery management and own the Drafting processes.
- You will also be responsible for our Offshore team, directly managing the individuals. This will include skill assessments, managing workflows, managing capacities, etc. This will require international travel.
- You are responsible for weekly reporting on daily trending actual vs. forecast and provide data for monthly & yearly reporting metrics.
- You are responsible for determining process improvements via a continuous improvement methodology. This could include both efficiency mapping and quality enhancements.
- You will identify training needs, create course content, facilitate training and review implementation & knowledge retention of Drafting.
- You will set the business case for best practices. You will create & own all documentation and standards around processes/procedures for the Drafting team.
- You are strategic. You will look for opportunities within existing business processes, as well as potential growth areas. You will be responsible for building business cases & present for buy-in. You will facilitate test cases to prove out business viability for expansion.
- You will partner with the sales team to provide them resources, knowledge and expertise to facilitate sales with our clients (home builders, lumberyards, contractors, etc).
- You will be responsible for budget items including headcount, COGS and understanding forecasted revenue opportunities. You will need to translate this information into capacity needs and COGS.
What You Need to Succeed:
- You will have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction, Architectural Design or similar (or equivalent experience).
- You have strong people management experience, including hiring & training new employees.
- You have experience with reporting & analytics around day to day service based activities.
- You are a SME in Building Standards and know how to identify local ordinances.
- You have proven professional experience with creating efficiencies that save both time and money.
- You need critical thinking, including creative development skills, requirements analysis capabilities, and proven problem-solving skills.
- You need to be dependable, organized and enjoy working in a changing/fast paced environment. We are Agile!
