WTS Energy is looking for a Project Controller opportunity with one of the leading heavy civil infrastructure contractors in the U.S., working on a major transportation project in Renton, WA.
This role is focused on project controls from an engineering/construction perspective, rather than traditional accounting or finance.
We're looking for someone with experience supporting construction projects, who understands cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and Earned Value Management (EVM) to measure project performance from a cost performance standpoint.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project cost control, budget monitoring, cash flow forecasting, and CAPEX/OPEX reporting, ensuring alignment with approved budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, procurement, and finance to monitor project progress, reconcile costs, and provide accurate reporting to support management decision-making.
- Track project performance by analyzing planned versus actual costs, progress, procurement commitments, and key project milestones, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
- Review and validated contractor payment applications, purchase orders, change orders, and contract variations, ensuring accurate cost allocation, financial control, and compliance with contractual requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in engineering project controls, cost engineering, or construction cost management on large infrastructure or EPC projects.
- Strong understanding of project cost control principles, forecasting, estimating, earned value management (EVM), and cost performance analysis.
- Experience monitoring project budgets, procurement commitments, quantities, and cost trends throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to analyze cost and schedule performance, identify variances, assess project risks, and recommend corrective actions.
