About the Role As a Quality Engineer Intern at Wheatland Tube (a division of Zekelman Industries), you will support key quality assurance activities aimed at enhancing product consistency, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Department Manager, Quality Assurance, you’ll participate in audits, inspections, calibration processes, and improvement initiatives, gaining valuable experience in quality systems and plant operations. This is a full-time, on-site internship located at our Warren, OH facility. The official Zekelman internship program runs from May 26, 2026, through August 14, 2026. This role is perfect for someone who is analytical, process-driven, and eager to build real-world experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing setting. What You’ll Do Perform process audits to assess compliance with internal and external requirements Verify the accuracy and effectiveness of quality and operations plans Conduct time studies to evaluate process efficiency and reduce bottlenecks Audit and assess material stock for quality compliance Support product tracking and coordinate material disposition activities Research and recommend inspection technologies and quality tools Manage the facility’s gage calibration system Assist with documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement tasks as assigned Promote and follow healthy and safe work practices in accordance with Zekelman policy and regulatory standards Perform other duties as assigned Who You Are Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Access knowledge is a plus Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate across teams Comfortable working in both office and outdoor environments Available to travel for the Internship Summit, hosted at a Zekelman Industries location This role is open to candidates who are authorized to work in the United States What You’ll Get Zekelman Industries offers a PAID internship experience with meaningful work, professional development, and the opportunity to make a real impact.
