About the Role As a Maintenance Technician at Maverick Pipe, a partner of Zekelman Industries, in Richmond, KY you will play a key role in ensuring the safe repair, rebuild, and maintenance of tube mill production equipment. The primary focus of this role is to maximize equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield to support efficient production operations. This role is perfect for someone who has a strong electrical aptitude, enjoys problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and takes pride in maintaining safe and reliable operations. Attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety are key to success in this position. Shift: Evening Shift. Pay: Hourly compensation will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance. What You’ll Do • Performs electrical maintenance on equipment, adhering to all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). • Ensures guards and safety equipment are in place and operational before returning equipment to service. • Monitors inventory levels of parts, equipment, and supplies; places orders and verifies deliveries as needed. • Utilizes manual and computerized maintenance management systems to track, inspect, and report equipment status. • Reads and interprets blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair machinery. • Troubleshoots and resolves electrical, mechanical, and quality issues, escalating concerns when necessary. • Performs breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeovers on production equipment. • Identifies and reports safety, quality, and operational issues when unable to resolve independently. • Observes mechanical devices in operation using precision instruments to diagnose and correct malfunctions. • Fabricates repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment. • Maintains a clean and safe work environment by following company and OSHA safety standards. • Operates powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes as required. • Supports continuous improvement initiatives and participates in problem-solving activities. • Promotes a strong culture of health and safety in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Who You Are • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in a maintenance role. • High school diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical/electrical training preferred. • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and technical drawings. • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs. • Effective communication skills in English with the ability to perform basic math calculations. • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. • Ability to pass job-related testing, an employment physical, and a drug screening. • Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative, proactive approach to maintenance challenges. Physical Abilities • Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. • Stands or walks for extended periods throughout the shift. • Bends, twists, stoops, sits, kneels, crawls, and reaches in all directions as required. • Performs other physical tasks as necessary to maintain and repair equipment safely and efficiently.
