What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Tech position at WTG Energy?
The Field Technician will be responsible for multiple pipeline tasks on natural gas transmission and distribution systems including compliance work, pipeline and facility maintenance, project oversight, measurement, meter reading, and daily operations. The candidate will perform duties in office and field environments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meter service and installation
- Pipeline locating
- Customer service
- Natural gas odor investigation
- Connecting and disconnecting natural gas services
- Construction and maintenance work
- Installing and repairing natural gas main and service lines
- Fusing pipe
- Maintain records associated with service and repair functions
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid driver’s license and meet company insurance requirements
- Good verbal and written skills
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Self-starter that can work alone or in teams
- Operator Qualification certifications testing
- Must be available for after hours and on-call as needed
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Fieldwork is required, and you must be prepared to work in various weather conditions.
- This role will involve occasional travel to different company locations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
