Description
This is more than an academic leadership role it is an opportunity to
shape the next generation of technical professionals in one of the
nations most dynamic and essential industries. As Dean of Aviation at
WSU Techs National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT), you will provide
strategic and operational leadership across eight FAA-certificated
programs serving more than 500 students annually: Aviation Maintenance
Technician (AMT), Professional Pilot (PLT), Unmanned Aircraft Systems
(UAS), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Sheetmetal Assembly (AER),
Aviation Core (AVC), Composite Assembly (CFT), and Aerospace Coatings
and Paint (ACP).
We are seeking a highly organized, deadline-driven leader who thrives in
a fast-paced, compliance-oriented environment. Whether your background
is in student services, academic administration, workforce development,
or a related technical field, your success in this role will be defined
by your ability to lead people, manage complex operations, build
meaningful partnerships, and deliver results on time, every time.
Aviation knowledge is valued but not required. What is non-negotiable is
your commitment to operational excellence, your attention to detail, and
your instinct to execute.
Compensation: \$72,217.60/yr

**What You Will Do**
Include
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but core accountabilities
**Leadership & Operations**
Lead, develop, and support a team of aviation faculty, staff, and
program coordinators
Own the operational cadence of the division deadlines are not
suggestions on this team
Manage department budgets, equipment, and program resources with fiscal
accountability
Ensure accurate, timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders
**Student Success & Academic Programs**
Champion enrollment growth, student retention, and program completion
Oversee curriculum development, instructional innovation, and program
evaluation
Support hybrid, online, and emerging instructional delivery models
Foster a student-centered culture grounded in safety, integrity, and
workforce readiness
**Compliance & Accreditation**
Ensure compliance with FAA Part 147, Part 141, Part 65, and Part 107
regulations and all applicable accreditation standards
Maintain meticulous records and documentation in support of regulatory
Requirements
Serve as a key point of accountability for program audits, reviews, and
approvals
**Industry & Community Engagement**
Build and sustain partnerships with aviation industry employers, the
FAA, and workforce agencies
Collaborate with high school partners, Kansas institutions, and regional
stakeholders
Represent NCAT at industry events, advisory boards, and community
engagements
