What are the responsibilities and job description for the Battery Watering Technician/Material Handler position at WSI?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining battery watering, testing, and cleaning.
General building maintenance repairs and charger cleaning.
Keep battery watering and washing logs up to date.
Running the sweeper scrubber and maintain service on the sweeper scrubber.
Must have good communication skills.
Knowledge of hand tools and how to use them is preferred.
Test equipment, electrical and electronic control systems and other related equipment, devices or components.
Safely operate equipment: forklifts, scissor lifts, hand tools, to perform system support tasks as required.
Maintain a positive working relationship across the WSI operations facility, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior operations leaders and customers.
Responsible for daily communication of all pertinent information regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
Overtime will be required with little or no advance notice
REQUIRED Education, Skills, and Experience:
Required to work with hand tools, battery water, and wash machine daily.
Job is in a fast-paced warehouse setting exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures and loud noise for prolonged periods of time.
Stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours. Able to work at height up to 28 ft.
Candidate is required to use both hands for extended periods of time while holding tools, equipment and parts, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Forklift certified or able to obtain certification
Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
