The Director of Fulfillment serves as a strategic and operational leader within the 3PL network, driving operational excellence across new startup accounts and existing fulfillment sites. Based in Fontana, CA, this role partners closely with site leadership and other Directors to ensure facilities are properly right-sized, optimized for efficiency, and aligned with standardized, best-in-class fulfillment processes. The role is responsible for operational performance, layout and process optimization, startup execution, and the advancement of continuous improvement initiatives across multiple locations. Travel up to 50% is required.

- Operational Leadership & Network Support
- Serve as a central operational resource supporting service, quality, productivity, and cost KPIs across multiple sites.
- Partner with the VP and Directors to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide hands-on expertise in fulfillment workflows, material flow, and labor optimization.
- Startup Account Management
- Lead operational planning and execution for new business launches.
- Develop startup plans including layouts, SOPs, labor models, and system configurations.
- Provide on-site support during launches to ensure stability and client satisfaction.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to align timelines and deliverables.
- Facility Right-Sizing & Layout Optimization
- Analyze capacity, throughput, slotting, and cost to identify right-sizing opportunities.
- Redesign process flows, racking, MHE strategies, and staffing models.
- Conduct time studies and workflow assessments to optimize space and cycle time.
- Recommend and implement automation or process improvements.
- Process Standardization & Best Practices
- Develop and deploy standardized SOPs, KPIs, and performance tools across the network.
- Support Lean methodologies and engineering-based process improvements.
- Mentor site leaders to strengthen capabilities and continuous improvement culture.
- Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a strategic partner to internal and external stakeholders on operational expectations.
- Collaborate with functional teams to resolve issues and improve end-to-end execution.
- Engage with customers for reviews, deep dives, and expansion discussions.
- Travel Requirements
- Travel up to 50% for startups, implementations, assessments, and site support.
- Proven success leading multi-site operations and startup or transition initiatives.
- Expertise in warehouse design, engineering, layout optimization, and labor modeling.
- Strong knowledge of WMS, RF processes, and 3PL customer requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to improve KPIs, reduce costs, and scale operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- 8 years in 3PL or fulfillment operations with progressive leadership experience.
- Experience with automation, conveyor systems, robotics, or advanced MHE.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training.
- Experience in high-growth eCommerce or omni-channel fulfillment.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day, at a desk in front of a computer screen.
- Proficient use of a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, as well as the ability to type, scroll, and click efficiently.
- Occasional light lifting and carrying of objects up to 20 pounds, such as office supplies or small equipment.
- Ability to move within an office, including occasional walking, bending, reaching, and climbing short flights of stairs.
- Clear communication, both verbal and written, including phone conversations, virtual meetings, and face-to-face.
- Adequate vision to read documents, use computer screens, and navigate office space.
- Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise, such as printers, telephones, and office conversations.
