Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating various types of heavy machinery on construction sites. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the operation of equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders, ensuring that all tasks are completed according to project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders and roller compactors onsite.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
- Safely transport materials using dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and front loader trucks.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment to minimize risks.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of construction sites as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and any maintenance performed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation with a focus on construction environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery and its maintenance.
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) preferred for operating vehicles such as dump trucks and tankers.
- Familiarity with various types of heavy equipment including Caterpillar machinery, backhoes, farm machinery, and concrete mixers is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
