WSC is seeking an AutoCAD Design Drafter to collaborate with designers, planners, project managers, strategic communications, and technical leaders in advancing vital water, recycled water, and infrastructure investments. Under the mentorship of our senior hydrogeologists, engineers, planners, and project managers, you will gain experience on a variety of challenging and exciting water supply planning, design, leadership training, career path development, and optimization projects.
The position would be based out of our San Diego, CA, Ontario, CA, San Luis Obispo, CA, Folsom, CA or Portland, CA offices with a flexible hybrid work option. This position may require some travel throughout California and Oregon.
What You Will Do
This is an entry-level role that requires close collaboration with our engineers, Project Managers, and technical project teams. We are looking for an entry-level CAD Design Drafter to support drafting, editing and finalization of design plans.
Requires an understanding of civil engineering concepts as well as the ability to analyze sketches, notes and other material supporting completion of drawing sets. Ability to produce dimensional drawings, 2D and 3D. Work includes use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP for mechanical 3D design, AutoCAD Civil 3D for alignments, corridors, profile views, grading, and surfaces as well as Autodesk Revit for development of mechanical plans for water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.

What You Bring
- Associates degree in Engineering, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Drafting, Surveying, or related field or trade school equivalent
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability with AutoCAD 2025 (required), and preferably knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk Revit
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience with Autodesk products
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Basic knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of civil engineering
- Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in water, sewer, storm drain, road construction preferred but not essential.
- Skill in preparing, reading, and interpreting engineering plans, existing utility plans, and other related documents
- Good communication skills
- Able to work well with others and independently
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
