Salesforce Administrator

WS Development
Chestnut, MA Remote Full Time
POSTED ON 8/20/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/19/2026
Overview

WS Development is seeking a Salesforce Administrator to support the operational performance, stability, and continued evolution of our highly customized Salesforce platform. Salesforce is a critical, business-wide system, and this role plays a hands-on, execution-focused role in ensuring the platform runs reliably while continuously improving automation, reporting, data integrity, and overall user experience.

This position works closely with the Salesforce Lead/Business Analyst, development partners, and cross-functional teams across the organization, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills. The role serves as a key operational support function rather than a solution architect or primary developer, ensuring that Salesforce effectively supports WS Development’s Retail Leasing operations and broader business needs. The ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical users is essential to supporting adoption and effective system use.

To be successful, the individual must be willing to learn and develop a strong understanding of WS Development’s business practices — particularly within the Retail Leasing environment. A working knowledge of leasing workflows, deal stages, pipeline management, and operational metrics is critical to delivering effective reporting, dashboards, and system usability.

The ideal candidate is detail-driven, technically strong, responsive, and motivated to deliver high-quality system execution in a complex, highly customized Salesforce org.

What to Expect

This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role that is closely aligned with business operations. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

Operational Support & System Stability
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for Salesforce support requests.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving user‑reported issues, including:
    • Flow and declarative automation errors
    • Data‑entry‑related issues
    • Validation rule conflicts
    • Reporting discrepancies caused by data inconsistencies
    • Monitoring overall system health and identifying recurring operational risks.
    • Managing user access, roles, permission sets, and security settings.
Reporting & Business Intelligence Ownership
  • Acting as the primary owner of core Salesforce reports and dashboards used across departments.
  • Developing a strong understanding of WS Development’s Retail Leasing workflows and KPIs to ensure reporting aligns with business priorities.
  • Building, refining, and maintaining reports and dashboards based on clearly defined requirements.
  • Ensuring data consistency and reliability to support accurate pipeline, deal, and performance reporting.
  • Continuously improving dashboards to enhance clarity, usability, and executive visibility.
Platform Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting declarative automation within a highly customized Salesforce org.
  • Supporting configuration updates and incremental system enhancements.
  • Conducting structured QA testing for configuration changes and development updates prior to deployment.
  • Partnering with developers to validate functionality, reduce defects, and support smooth releases.
  • Supporting release and change management activities, including sandbox validation and post‑deployment verification.
Data Integrity & Governance
  • Maintaining high standards of data quality, consistency, and usability.
  • Performing data imports, exports, deduplication, and cleanup activities.
  • Identifying patterns in user‑generated errors and implementing preventative solutions.
  • Supporting long‑term data governance practices to improve reporting reliability and operational confidence.
AI‑Driven Enablement
  • Leveraging AI tools (including Salesforce‑native AI and approved external platforms) as productivity aids to:
    • Improve troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis
    • Enhance reporting insights
    • Support documentation and QA processes
    • Increase internal problem‑solving efficiency
  • Identifying practical, business‑appropriate opportunities where AI can streamline support processes and expand internal solution capability.

This role requires responsiveness, critical thinking, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in understanding how Retail Leasing operations function to better support end users.

Immediate Opportunity / Initial Success (First 12 Months)

Within the first year, success in this role will include:

  • Developing a strong understanding of WS Development’s Salesforce architecture and Retail Leasing workflows.
  • Becoming a trusted operational support partner to Leasing and business teams.
  • Delivering clear, accurate, and actionable reporting aligned with business priorities.
  • Reducing recurring automation failures and data‑entry‑related errors.
  • Strengthening QA practices around configuration changes and deployments.
  • Demonstrating practical and effective use of AI tools to improve efficiency and internal capability.

Early indicators of success include improved reporting accuracy, increased user confidence, clearer dashboards, and more stable system performance.

Potential for Growth / Longer‑Term Success (12–24 Months)

Over time, this role may expand to include:

  • Supporting more advanced reporting and system enhancements.
  • Contributing to larger platform optimization initiatives in partnership with leadership.
  • Helping refine Salesforce to better align with evolving Retail Leasing practices.
  • Expanding in‑house solution capabilities through pragmatic, AI‑enabled improvements.
  • Evolving into a highly trusted Salesforce partner with deep understanding of both the platform and the business it supports.

Growth in this role is focused on deeper platform ownership, increased influence on system efficiency and usability, and stronger alignment between Salesforce and business operations.

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on Salesforce Administration experience in a complex or highly customized environment
  • Strong experience troubleshooting Salesforce Flow and declarative automation
  • Proven experience creating reports and dashboards for business stakeholders
  • Experience supporting a highly customized Salesforce org
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve user‑generated data and process errors
  • Experience conducting structured QA testing
  • Strong operational mindset with high attention to detail and responsiveness
  • Interest in learning and understanding Retail Leasing operations and metrics
  • Familiarity with Apex and the Salesforce development lifecycle (coding not required, but helpful)
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (required)

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting sales, leasing, or pipeline‑driven environments
  • Platform App Builder or Advanced Administrator certification
  • Experience with deployment, sandbox management, or change management tools
  • Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools to improve operational efficiency
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross‑functionally
