Location: Tampa, FL

Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced (3) Irrigation Technician to support commercial landscaping operations across a diverse portfolio of properties. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems to ensure optimal water efficiency and landscape health. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and skilled in diagnosing a wide range of irrigation challenges in fast-paced commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair commercial irrigation systems, controllers, valves, sensors, and piping.
• Troubleshoot issues including leaks, electrical faults, pressure problems, coverage inefficiencies, and damaged components.
• Program, adjust, and optimize irrigation timers and smart controllers for efficiency and seasonal needs.
• Conduct routine system audits to identify performance issues and recommend improvements.
• Perform system start-ups in spring and winterization/shut-downs as required.
• Read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, and schematics.
• Work closely with field teams, supervisors, and account managers to ensure irrigation supports overall landscape health.
• Maintain accurate service logs, work orders, and material usage reports.
• Ensure all repairs and installations comply with state, local, and company standards.
• Operate equipment safely and follow all company safety protocols.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of irrigation installation and repair experience in commercial landscaping or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems including Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, and smart/wireless controllers.
• Ability to diagnose electrical and hydraulic irrigation issues.
• Experience reading and working from irrigation plans and as-built drawings.
• Proficient with trenchers, pipe cutters, multimeters, and other trade tools.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  
  

Preferred (Not Required)

• Irrigation Technician License or Landscape Irrigation Certification.
• Backflow Prevention Certification.
• Experience in multi-site commercial landscape maintenance.
