Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the mechanical estimating department.
- Develop detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing scopes.
- Interpret drawings, specs, and subcontractor proposals to build accurate bid packages.
- Guide bid strategy, project qualification, and pricing decisions.
- Strengthen relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and partners.
- Enhance estimating tools, cost databases, and internal processes.
- Collaborate with leadership and operations to ensure smooth handoff to project teams.
Qualifications
- 7 years of mechanical estimating experience (HVAC, mechanical, or plumbing).
- Proven leadership or mentorship experience within an estimating team.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction practices, and cost structures.
- Proficiency with tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines under pressure.
