Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated After School Program Director to lead our dynamic after-school activities. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and energetic After School Program Director to lead our growing program. This role combines leadership, child supervision, and transportation responsibilities, including safely driving a bus/van to pick up students from local schools.
The ideal candidate is great with kids, confident managing a team, and comfortable handling both logistics and day-to-day program operations.
Program Leadership & Management
- Oversee daily operations of the after school program
- Create and manage schedules, activities, and staff assignments
- Ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children
- Communicate with parents regarding schedules, behavior, and program updates
- Handle student check-in/check-out procedures
Staff Supervision
- Train, support, and supervise after school staff
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Address any staff or student issues professionally and promptly
Transportation Duties
- Safely drive a company bus/van to pick up students from local schools
- Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle
Administrative Tasks
- Assist with enrollment, attendance tracking, and program planning
- Ensure compliance with all safety and licensing requirements
- Help grow and improve the program through ideas and feedback
Qualifications
- Experience working with children (required; leadership experience preferred)
- Previous management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be comfortable driving a bus or willing to be trained
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- High energy, dependable, and positive attitude
