position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning Fall 2026.
We seek dynamic and collegial candidates with research and teaching
expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,
or a closely related field.
To support the mission of the Department of Mechanical and Materials
Engineering and to help the department increase its Aerospace
Engineering offerings. Develop funded research, teach courses, and
serve administratively.
Minimum Qualifications

- Earned PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline before the anticipated start date of August 1, 2026.
- Evidence of scholarly potential (Assistant Professor) or a strong record of research and teaching excellence (Associate Professor).
- Commitment to mentoring students and supporting collaborative research.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to undergraduate and graduate instruction, especially in areas related to aerospace systems and mechanics.
- Experience or interest in research collaborations with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), or regional aerospace industry partners.
- Expertise in areas such as structural mechanics and aerodynamics.

- Write grant proposals and reports, obtain funding for research and funding to support graduate students, and perform the other activities necessary to develop and active research program
- Publish conference and journal papers
- Develop a fully funded and internationally recognized research program
15% Administrative Service:
- Serve on department, college, and university committees
- Serve as a reviewer for technical papers and proposals
- Demonstrate leadership in one or more professional societies related to discipline
