Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Field Carpenter to join our team. As a Field Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing carpentry tasks at job sites, including framing, installing doors and windows, exterior trim , siding, interior trim, and millwork using many different types of materials. Under the supervision of a lead carpenter, foreman, or superintendent you will work directly at construction sites and be involved in a wide range of carpentry tasks for both residential and commercial projects.

This position requires an all-around, skilled self-starter, familiar with job site activities, with experience using a wide variety of tools, construction materials, and general knowledge of basic fasteners and fastening systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Construct and install framing, walls, floors, and ceilings for buildings and structures.
  • Install windows, doors, trim, siding, and cabinetry.
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans.
  • Use power and hand tools to complete carpentry tasks with precision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite while following all safety guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and other team members.
  • Perform general carpentry repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure that all work meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in general carpentry (frame to finish).
  • Knowledge and experience using a variety of building materials, framing and blocking, fastening systems, and the construction process including carpentry's role and how it integrates with trade subcontractors.
  • Ability to read construction plans and drawings.
  • Strong proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to pace and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
