Wright Plastic Products currently has an opening for a 1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor at our Sheridan, MI location.
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
Supervise maintenance technicians and assist with performing required work for maintaining the building, grounds, presses, and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Physical: Performing the duties of the Maintenance Supervisor position will require regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel and talk or hear. This position is also required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl. Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs with regular lifting of up to 10lbs will be required. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Flexibility: This position requires flexibility with special situations that may require after regular hours phone calls or assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department
- Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed
- Develops maintenance procedures and schedules
- Responsible for ensuring the completion of repair work and assigned preventative maintenance activities in a timely manner
- Actively work to reduce maintenance repair and preventive maintenance costs
- Assist in developing plans to reduce breakdown related downtime
- Conducts annual performance evaluations and makes recommendations for wage increases
- Maintain a safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions
- Ensure that all work areas are clean and free of oil
- Effectively communicate with other departments and shifts
- Participates in continuous improvement process as required
- Participates in 8D problem solving as required
- Additional education as required to help reduce external maintenance repair costs
- Performs all other assigned duties
- Reading 7 – 9th grade and math 8th grade to be determined by testing
- 1-3 years plastic industry maintenance experience including hydraulics and pneumatics
- Previous maintenance supervisory experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to supply own tools
- Ability to obtain a valid hi-lo license
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental and OSHA laws preferred
- Good performance record
- Must be able to demonstrate competency through testing and job performance after training
