Employment Specialist
WILO is looking for a Part time Employment Specialist to provide individualized support and training to individuals with disabilities in order to help them obtain and maintain competitive employment. This role involves working closely with clients, employers, and support teams to ensure successful job placement and long-term job retention.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct job skills assessments to identify clients' strengths, interests, and support needs.
- Develop individualized employment plans in collaboration with clients and support teams.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to clients, including job task instruction, workplace etiquette, and social skills development.
- Facilitate communication and problem-solving between clients and employers.
- Monitor clients' job performance and provide ongoing support and feedback.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and services provided.
- Collaborate with vocational rehabilitation counselors, case managers, and other service providers.
- Conduct job development activities, including employer outreach and job matching.
- Provide transportation to and from job sites as needed.
- Assist with job applications, resume building, and interview preparation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a vocational or employment setting.
- Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in using computers and other technology.
