Wright City High School has an opening for a Robotics Sponsor for the 2025-26 school year.  

 

Position Title: Robotics Sponsor 

Reports To: Building Principal

 

Summary:  Provide students within the school community the opportunity to engage in science and mathematical concepts through the construction, programming and development of robotic applications.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  1. Have knowledge in and follow the guidelines, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the Wright City School District for participation in extra-curricular activities.
  2. Organize, sponsor, supervise, and conduct meetings during the duration of the activity. Participate in local, state, regional and national competitions which align with the club’s goals.
  3. Engage community and parental participation and support of the program
  4. Organize and develop curriculum, prepare activities, and assist students in preparing for the meetings
  5. Organize, supervise, and conduct fundraising activities, as required, to support the club, and maintain accurate financial records of same.
  6. Advertise and recruit students to participate in the club.
  7. Exercise proper care and handling of district equipment.
  8. Provide for the safety of facilities and the safety of the students while conducting all meetings.
  9. Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner as requested by the building administrator or the district's Board of Education.

 

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

 

  1. Missouri teaching certification

Interpersonal Skills

Must possess strong, positive interpersonal skills including communication, ability to work with a wide demographic, including parents/guardians, students, assistant coaches, community members, and district personnel.

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to problem-solve and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and/or oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in varied situations.

 

Physical Demands

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, talk, listen, and respond. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.  The employee will regularly stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, precise hand-eye coordination and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.  Occasionally, the employee may lift up to 50 pounds, such as, to lift files, papers, and equipment.  The foregoing is not an exclusive list and the employee may be required to exceed the minimal physical demand specifications should the safety and security of students and staff to be compromised.

Regular attendance on the job is expected and necessary.  

 

 Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job.  The noise level in the work environment is usually at a moderate to loud level with frequent interruptions.  The employee continuously interacts with students, staff, and the public.  Travel may be necessary to various District buildings and/or other sites.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job duties.

 

Terms of Employment:

 Contract terms covering compensation, benefits, and working conditions are specified by the    Board of Education’s policies, agreements and approvals.
