I. GENERAL INFORMATION:
Position Status: Exempt
Position reports to: Sales Manager
Positions supervised: None
II. POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Increase sales volume by successfully quoting customer requirements and improve margins by quoting existing customer parts. Provide quality service to all customers.
III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (essential and other functions):
1. Accurate and timely processing of quotes, orders, and routings.
2. Determine costs and provide quote information to customers.
3. Interpret 2D drawing, understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
4. Communicate and consult with personnel to formulate estimates, resolve issues, and relate quote details.
IV. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge:
High School diploma or equivalent necessary.
Technical school or bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. Experience:
1-3 years experience in the Manufacturing Industry.
Experience in quoting, estimating, or purchasing.
3. Ability/skills
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Above average math skills.
Self motivation and personal ownership.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of general machine shop procedures and types of tooling.
Microsoft Office.
Print reading
Safety and quality minded.
V. WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Office environment; possible overtime.
2. If trips into the shop are necessary, safety protection will be required.
3. Fast paced, job shop and fabrication business.
VI. LEVEL
1. Works under minimal supervision.
2. Exercises large degree of discretion and independent judgment.
3. Works under pressure of deadlines.
Salary : $40,000 - $55,000
