WRG BUILD is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative – Architectural Solutions to develop new business opportunities and drive sales of architectural interior products and solutions. This role will represent WRG in the commercial construction and design community, building relationships with architects, designers, general contractors, developers, construction project managers, corporate real estate professionals, and end-user clients.
The ideal candidate will have experience selling architectural products, commercial interiors, specialty construction products, modular or demountable wall systems, or similar solutions and will be comfortable working within the construction process from initial opportunity through project completion.
This is a sales and project-focused role. In addition to developing new business and closing opportunities, the Business Development Representative will work closely with WRG's design, project management, operations, and manufacturer partners to help move projects successfully from concept and estimating through installation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities and generate sales of architectural products, interior construction solutions, wall systems, and related services.
- Prospect and establish relationships with architects, designers, general contractors, subcontractors, developers, construction project managers, corporate real estate professionals, and commercial end users.
- Introduce WRG BUILD to new accounts and opportunities through relationship development, product education, presentations, and consultative sales.
- Build and maintain a strong personal network within the commercial construction, architecture and design, real estate, and corporate interiors communities.
- Sell and support architectural product solutions including Maars Living Walls, DIRTT, and other manufacturer product lines.
- Develop a strong technical understanding of product specifications, applications, acoustic properties, construction integration, and installation requirements.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans, blueprints, elevations, specifications, and project details to identify opportunities, understand project requirements, and communicate effectively with construction professionals.
- Review project documents and coordinate with internal teams and manufacturer representatives to develop accurate and comprehensive bids and proposals.
- Develop creative, cost-effective product solutions that address clients' aesthetic, acoustic, functional, scheduling, and budgetary requirements.
- Manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle, from initial prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation, close, and project turnover.
- Maintain ownership of client relationships throughout the project and provide appropriate oversight through installation and completion.
- Partner with WRG's design team and project managers to develop solutions, support estimating, coordinate project requirements, and ensure a successful transition from sales to project execution.
- Partner with manufacturer representatives to leverage product expertise, technical resources, training, and relationships to grow the overall business.
- Lead showroom and project tours and conduct client presentations, product demonstrations, and architectural product education as appropriate throughout the sales cycle.
- Develop compelling written and verbal presentations for end users, architects and designers, contractors, developers, and corporate real estate professionals.
- Actively participate in business development activities throughout the local business community, including networking events and industry events focused on healthcare, commercial construction, architecture and design, and real estate.
- Participate in relevant industry organizations and professional networks as appropriate.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the commercial construction process, real estate market, job site conditions, and construction sequencing.
- Stay informed on industry trends, architectural products, workplace design, construction practices, and competitive solutions.
- Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and responsiveness.
- Meet regularly with WRG leadership to discuss business development activities, opportunities, sales pipeline, project status, and potential issues.
- Represent WRG professionally and positively in the business community and consistently fulfill responsibilities with a high level of ownership and accountability.
Position Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in architectural sales, commercial interiors, construction, architecture, design, building products, or a related field.
- Previous experience selling architectural products, specialty construction products, commercial interior solutions, modular/demountable wall systems, or similar products is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, architectural drawings, blueprints, elevations, and specifications is required.
- Proven ability to develop new business, build relationships, manage a sales pipeline, and close sales.
- Strong presentation skills and a high level of comfort presenting to clients, architects, designers, contractors, and other professional groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong understanding of the commercial construction process, job site conditions, and coordination between design, estimating, project management, and installation.
- A high sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and remain composed when quick thinking and problem-solving are required.
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to identify opportunities and develop business.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions to meet client needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to learn technical product information and become proficient with new technology and software.

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction, Business, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent industry experience will be considered.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is comfortable selling and comfortable in the construction environment. The right person can walk into a meeting with an architect, designer, or general contractor, understand the conversation, read the drawings, identify an opportunity, develop a solution, and help carry that opportunity through to a successful installation.
Candidates with experience in commercial interiors, architectural products, specialty construction, modular wall systems, demountable partitions, architectural building products, acoustical products, millwork, flooring, glazing, or other construction-related products are encouraged to apply.
This role compensates with a base salary commission.
