Wraparound Experts is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist serving private schools and a preschool program mainly within Cuyahoga County.

We place the following Special Education and Mental Health professionals at elementary and secondary schools: Intervention Specialists, Remedial Teachers, Gifted or Enrichment Teachers, Title 1 Teachers, School Psychologists, Mental Health Counselors, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Behavior Professionals.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, developing treatment plans and direct activity programs, in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, to assure the highest degree of quality care can be maintained at all times. The OT provides therapy according to the treatment plan and documents and monitors progress and adjusts therapy, as required. The OT will provide support and therapeutic services to students with diverse needs within the general education classroom as prescribed by Wraparound Experts and the principal of the school. This role is essential in helping our students achieve their maximum potential in academic, social, and daily living activities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
  • Valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Ohio, required
  • Valid current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), required
  • Current Ohio Department of Education certification, preferred
  • Pass and maintain clear BCI and FBI background checks, required.
  • Valid driver’s license, required.
  • Experience with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Evaluation Team Report (ETRs), preferred
  • Strong relationship building, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills with school/campus staff, parents, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills including cultural sensitivity & competence
  • Analytical ability to conduct complex fact-finding investigations and develop plans of action to address a variety of issues and concerns in a timely manner
  • Ability to preserve the confidentiality of student information and records
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret assessment results and use the results to develop treatment/intervention plans and classroom strategies that are appropriate to the educational goals of the student (and within the student’s least restrictive environment)


Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial evaluations and re-evaluations
  • Participates in school building IEP/Intervention teams
  • Designs individualized treatment plans and materials to match the student’s unique learning profile
  • Provides therapy according to the treatment plan while monitoring progress and adjusting therapy
  • Documents, monitors, and analyzes the student’s progress and effects of treatment
  • Communicates, educates, and provides family training on the patient’s individualized treatment plans
  • Consults and collaborates with family and other staff or supports (i.e., physician, school district, other therapies)
  • Creates and submits all reporting, including appropriate recommendations ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintains professional development through such activities as classes, conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional journals
  • Maintains organization and structure with changes in treatment plans and materials. Communicate expectations between teachers and families


Pay: $55 - $65/hr
