We place the following Special Education and Mental Health professionals at elementary and secondary schools: Intervention Specialist, Remedial Teacher, Gifted or Enrichment Teacher, Title 1 Teacher, School Psychologist, Mental Health Counselor, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist/COTA, Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Registered Behavior Technician.

Job Summary
The Intervention Specialist/Special Education Teacher is responsible for assisting children with special academic, social, and behavioral needs in schools and other educational settings. They will be responsible for designing, executing, and assessing programs based on different factors, including gender, cultural background, and age. The intervention specialist will work with parents and teachers to design and implement individualized programs that best fit the child’s situation. The specialist is responsible for making and maintaining informed observations, records of children's performance, and lesson plans for students. An intervention specialist is also responsible for adhering to individualized education programs (IEPs). The IS will provide support and services to students with diverse needs as prescribed by Wraparound Experts and the principal of the school. This role is essential in helping our students achieve their maximum potential in academic, social, and daily living activities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education/special education, required
- Ohio Department of Education Certification - Intervention Specialist licensure in K-8, Alternative SPED License, Supplemental SPED License, required
- Valid driver’s license, required
- Pass and maintain clear FBI and BCI background check, required
- Successful experience working with children in an academic environment
- Knowledgeable in state and federal special education law
- Collaborative, constructive team building skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job
Responsibilities
- Works cooperatively with classroom teachers; interprets the skills and needs of students, assists in classroom intervention strategies, modifies general education curricula as necessary, and assists students with regular class assignments
- Monitors the progress of caseload - maintains records and communicates with parents and teachers of student progress
- Conducts diagnostic assessments for instruction
- Facilitates IEP meetings and writes IEP goals and objectives
- Utilizes research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction
- Integrates culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues
- Works with a team to help identify the best practices for individual students and groups of students
