Job Description
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, and test PCMs, ABS modules and TIPMs for various vehicle makes and models. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automotive electronics, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to quality and craftsmanship. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and performance of our clients’ vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair Powertrain Control Modules (PCMs), ABS modules and Totally Integrated Power Modules (TIPMs) to restore full functionality.
Perform circuit board-level repairs, including soldering and desoldering components (e.g., relays, microprocessors, SOIC and fuses).
Test and validate repaired modules to ensure they meet OEM specifications and quality standards.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and testing processes using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Collaborate with the team to improve repair processes and ensure fast turnaround times.
Stay updated on automotive electronics trends and technologies to enhance repair techniques.
Qualifications
Proven experience in repairing automotive electronic modules, specifically PCMs, ABS modules and TIPMs.
Proficiency in circuit board repair, including soldering skills down to 0201 component level.
Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and programming/reflashing equipment.
Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, including engine and transmission control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and service manuals.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive electronics or related field preferred.
IPC certification or equivalent electronics training is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and ability to relocate to Davie, Florida.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM vehicles, as TIPMs are common in these brands.
Knowledge of PCM reflashing or reprogramming processes.
Familiarity with common TIPM failure symptoms (e.g., fuel pump issues, erratic wiper operation, or airbag light activation).
Previous work in an ISO 9001:2015-certified environment.
