Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding (Remote, Chicago-Based)
Our client, a well-established global freight forwarding company, is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to join their team and drive growth across the Midwest region. This is a remote position ideally based in the Chicago area, covering Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan.
Compensation & Benefits

- Salary up to $120,000
- 10% GP bonus structure

About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a global logistics provider known for its strong operational capability, international network, and long-standing industry reputation. They are now looking to appoint a driven sales professional who can expand their presence and secure new import and export business across ocean, air, and road freight.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy across the Midwest
- Identify, approach, and secure new business opportunities
- Promote comprehensive freight solutions covering sea, air, and road
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, manufacturers, and distributors
- Stay abreast of market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
- Collaborate closely with internal operations to ensure excellent service delivery
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in freight forwarding sales or business development
- Strong technical understanding of logistics, international trade, and INCOTERMS
- A personal network or previous portfolio of importers/exporters is advantageous
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working remotely
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory
