Our Internship Program with WPS Health Solutions is comprised of two key components. The first component involves gaining practical experience to supplement academic coursework and prepare for future career pursuits. This will be comprised of a hands-on role within a functional area related to a relevant field of study. Each internship incorporates responsibilities and tasks which support the business objectives and client service offerings, while providing ongoing collaboration with experienced departmental colleagues and exposure to "real world" business demands. The second element centers on exposure to corporate culture and professional development:
This Intern will support WPS ITIL infrastructure as part of the change control, major incident management, problem management, and disaster recovery cross-functional team.
Pay rate:$20.00 ~ $22.00/hour
The base pay rate offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Work Location
Our first consideration will be to have this intern live in the state of Wisconsin to take advantage of Hybrid work and collaboration. Employees living within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI) will be expected to be able to be able to work Hybrid 3 days a week on a regular basis.

What You Will Do As An IT Infrastructure Intern
- Review, support, and facilitate Requests For Change in the ServiceNow Platform
- Attend Change Advisory Board meetings and provide administrative support for the change control process, including following up on unauthorized changes
- Review, update and test department documentation and procedures
- Help develop disaster recovery plans, procedures, and documentation
- Assist in major incident response activities
- Have a strong interest in IT service management and are eager to learn about frameworks like ITIL that help organizations manage their IT infrastructure effectively.
- Enjoy working with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, improve systems, and ensure business continuity.
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and thrive in environments where precision and accuracy are critical, especially when it comes to change control, incident management, and disaster recovery.
- Want to gain hands-on experience in problem management and major incident resolution, working to minimize disruptions and improve IT service delivery.
- Gain practical experience supporting core ITIL processes, including change control, incident management, problem management, and disaster recovery, all of which are vital for maintaining IT service delivery.
- Work with various teams across the organization to understand how IT infrastructure is managed, how incidents are resolved, and how systems are optimized for performance and continuity.
- Build your knowledge in IT service management (ITSM) tools and frameworks, helping you develop valuable skills for a career in IT operations, service management, and support.
- US. Citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
- Be currently pursuing a degree in higher education or recent graduate.
- Have experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or related field.
- High speed cable or fiber internet
- Minimum of 10 Mbps downstream and at least 1 Mbps upstream internet connection (can be checked at https://speedtest.net)
