The Old Feed Mill, a family owned, casual fine dining restaurant, for 32 years, in Mazomanie, WI needs a solid Server/Waiter to join our restaurant team. In this key role, you will be responsible for serving high-quality dishes and drinks with precision and care, ensuring meal experience meets our standards for taste, presentation, safety and enjoyable customer interaction. This position pays a $5/hr base wage with a reliable and steady sources of tips.
NOTE: All tip wages earned, up to the IRS limit, are tax exempt and you can choose to have 100% of wages taken home.
Join us part-time Friday and Saturday 3p-9p., as we move into the hectic Spring season and potentially grow into a four-day a week position, if you want, and help us create memorable moments; one plate at a time.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service to welcome them.
- Take accurate orders using written pads and a Point of Sale (POS) computer register system taking the time and asking questions to ensure quick and correct orders.
- Prepare basic food items in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards, supporting kitchen staff if needed.
- Handle cash, card and electronic transactions efficiently, and balancing registers at shift end, if needed.
- Suggest menu items to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining genuine customer engagement.
- Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables, sanitizing workstations, and ensuring the dining area is inviting and well cared for.
- Willing to adapt and act calmly and with humor and grace in a quick service restaurant setting, with very busy times and slower times during your shift.
- Help other servers if needed and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, café, or retail environments is helpful, enthusiasm is key!
- Demonstrated reliable attendance and transportation to get to and from work on time.
- Willingness to learn and enjoy working with others.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Possibly cover other employee shifts, when asked.
