Role Description This full-time, on-site Hybrid Fiber/Coax Maintenance Technician role is based in the Charleston, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. The technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing the HFC network, including plant, nodes, amplifiers, and related outside plant equipment to ensure consistent service quality. Daily activities include performing routine inspections, conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting signal issues, and responding to service-affecting outages in the field. The role also involves using test equipment to analyze signal levels, documenting work performed, updating system records, and complying with all safety and quality standards. The technician will collaborate with network operations, construction, and customer support teams to resolve escalated issues and support upgrades or new deployments within the HFC network.

Qualifications
- Strong maintenance and repair skills, including Maintenance & Repair and Industrial Maintenance, with the ability to work safely on outside plant infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance to support reliable operation of HFC network components and related field equipment.
- Advanced Troubleshooting skills to identify, isolate, and resolve signal, connectivity, and performance issues in a timely manner.
- Experience working with hybrid fiber/coax networks, including knowledge of RF principles, DOCSIS, and outside plant standards.
- Ability to use field test instruments (signal level meters, spectrum analyzers, OTDRs or similar) and read network maps and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in varying outdoor conditions, including climbing ladders and working at heights as required.
- Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and support staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
