Mill Turn Setup OperatorJob SummaryThe Mill Turn Setup Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mill/turn machines to ensure jobs meet specifications and are completed on time. This role also includes providing guidance to operators to complete assigned jobs efficiently and accurately.Essential DutiesRead and interpret material/process specifications, engineering drawings, manuals, and work instructions.Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, or sample parts for setup requirements.Set up and operate CNC mill/turning centers, such as Mori Seiki NL models.Use inspection tools (height gauges, optical comparators, thread gauges, micrometers, verniers, indicators, etc.) to check in-process work and complete written inspection reports.Accurately complete paperwork related to counts, scrap, time, First Article Inspection results, job travelers, non-conformance reports, etc.Collect and record data at the workstation for each operation.Make edits and adjustments as required to produce parts per work order or blueprint specifications.Monitor machine performance for issues (e.g., vibration, cutting tool breakage) and address problems proactively.Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and programmers to resolve machining or assembly issues.Provide instructions and guidance to operators to finish assigned jobs.Participate in continuous improvement activities and teams.Other ResponsibilitiesPerform additional duties as assigned.Computer / Technical SkillsAbility to read and interpret GD&T.Inspect work for all dimensional features as required.Demonstrate knowledge of feeds, speeds, cutting tools, and their applications.Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management System (preferred).Strong attention to detail and clear communication with peers and supervisors.Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Flexible to work overtime as needed (weekdays or weekends).QualificationsCertificate of Completion in Machining Technology or equivalent required.Minimum of two years of experience with mill/turning and lathe equipment.Other RequirementsMust be a U.S. citizen as defined by ITAR.Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9100 quality standards and processes.Fluent in English (read, write, speak).Knowledge of proper safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.Physical RequirementsFrequent use of manual dexterity.Required to stand, walk, reach, climb/balance, stoop, or kneel.Required to sit for extended periods.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.Visual requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.Noise level: moderate in office, loud on production floor.Company DescriptionOur Professional Division works with clients as a stakeholder in their hiring strategy and process.
