What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool Supervisor position at Worthington Pools?
Job Overview:
The Pool Supervisor’s responsibility is to provide a safe, clean pool environment for the Worthington Pools facility. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, lifeguard staff supervision, pool management, and facility operations.
Pay Rate: Starting at $21.00/hour.
Management:
1. Supervision
a. Manage lifeguard rotations, breaks, and delegates duties as needed.
i. Completes regular rounds for lifeguards giving breaks, organizing staff, and watching for potentially dangerous situations and intervening when necessary.
b. Demonstrates proper rescue techniques and has exceptional knowledge of the American Red Cross lifeguarding program.
c. Always demonstrates professionalism.
d. Delegates cleaning duties and other tasks that need completed.
e. Ensures adequate lifeguard supervision for pool programs throughout the day.
2. Training
a. Evaluates skills of lifeguards at in-service training and while on-duty and gives feedback as necessary.
b. Assists supervisor with designing, scheduling, and implementing in-service training for lifeguard staff.
c. Participates in in-service training on a regular basis.
d. Supports continued lifeguard growth through teaching to excellence and the American Red Cross standards.
Other Duties as Required:
1. Attends to all necessary duties to keep Worthington Pools functioning properly.
2. Fill in for lifeguards when necessary.
3. Organize and facilitate regular in-service training.
4. Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Operations.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
1. American Red Cross certified lifeguard.
2. American Red Cross LGI certification required. (If not current, must be obtained within 90 days of hire.)
3. Two years’ experience in a similar facility demonstrating lifeguard management.
4. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
5. Minimum 18-years-old, 21-years-old preferred.
