Manufacturing Operations Team Lead You’ll step onto the production floor for 2nd or 3rd shift ready to set the tone: safety first, clear priorities, and steady pace. As our team’s go-to leader on the floor, you’ll coach both seasonal and full-time employees, keep work orders flowing, and make sure every part meets spec. When the supervisor is out, you’ll run the play—guiding pre-shift huddles, assigning work, and responding to plant emergencies as a trained first responder. What your shift looks like Kick off with a pre-shift meeting: set goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost; coordinate assignments; and reinforce plant policies and procedures.Keep production moving: expedite and execute scheduled work orders to meet customer requirements while reducing scrap and rework.Be the problem-solver: resolve day-to-day issues impacting safety, production, shipping, and quality; escalate only when needed.Model safe work: follow plant safety rules, including lockout/tagout protocols; act as First Responder during plant emergencies.Train and develop: onboard new teammates, complete training documentation, and provide real-time coaching and feedback.Lean in: support Lean Transformation and safety initiatives; identify improvement opportunities and recommend fixes.Own the details: complete accurate production reporting and paperwork; maintain a clean, organized work area.Pitch in: assist others and perform other duties as assigned by the lead, supervisor, and/or manager. What you bring Hands-on know-how: basic machine repair knowledge; proficiency with micrometers, dial calipers, height gages, shop gages, depth gages, and dial indicators.Quality mindset: ability to maintain tight tolerances and finishes to engineering/manufacturing specifications with strong in-process inspection skills.Forklift capability: certified or able to become certified quickly.Communication and leadership: clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills; able to build working relationships fast and lead a team on the floor.Analytical and organized: comfortable switching from big-picture planning to detailed execution in a fact-based environment.Math fluency: strong basic math; convert between metric and English measurements with ease.Safety-first approach: knowledge of lockout/tagout and a commitment to personal and product/process integrity.Drive and urgency: customer-focused with decision-making confidence and a steady work pace throughout the entire shift. Preferred At least 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.First Aid/CPR and Emergency Response training.
