JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of Sustaining Engineer, within the Consumer Products Group (CPG) will primarily focus on lifecycle management of legacy and newly launched consumer products. This will include product enhancements, line extensions, cost out opportunities, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), Factory Support and updating product regulatory requirements. This role works very closely with Product Development (NPD) Engineering, Quality Engineering, Purchasing, Sales/Marketing, Brand Teams and Operations Teams. Sustaining Engineers are essential for maintaining the quality and efficiency of products throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they remain reliable and cost-effective.

General Responsibilities
- Support Production: Address and resolve production-related issues to ensure smooth manufacturing operations
- Product Improvement: Review and recommend updates to product specifications to enhance design, cost, quality, and reliability
- Maintenance and Reliability: Implement preventative maintenance measures and develop processes for ongoing support
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and customer support teams to meet end-user needs and maintain compliance with industry standards
- Incident Resolution: Assess and resolve operational issues and incident reports promptly
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving measures within the organization
- Design Evaluation: Critically evaluate design implementations to ensure optimal manufacturability and performance
- Other duties as assigned
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Communication: Effective speaking and writing skills for clear communication with teams and stakeholders.
- Creativity: Innovative thinking to improve products and processes
- Must be proficient using SolidWorks
- Must be proficient using MS Office
- Must be comfortable working multiple projects
- Travel required 30-40% of the time (domestic and international)
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline with equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product design or product sustaining role
