The Engineering & Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all plant engineering, maintenance, and reliability activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance, capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical support for production while developing a strong, safety-focused maintenance and engineering team.

Maintenance & Reliability
The Engineering & Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all plant engineering, maintenance, and reliability activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance, capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical support for production while developing a strong, safety-focused maintenance and engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability
- Lead and manage plant maintenance operations, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- Ensure equipment uptime, reliability, and performance to support production goals
- Analyze downtime and failure data to drive root cause analysis and long-term solutions
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships
- Plan and schedule plant shutdowns in partnership with internal teams and external contractors
- Plan and execute capital improvement projects from concept through commissioning
- Provide engineering support for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new installations
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Support layout changes, automation initiatives, and energy efficiency projects
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians, engineers, and supervisors
- Establish clear performance expectations and promote accountability
- Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork
- Coordinate training to enhance technical skills and equipment knowledge
- Champion plant safety and quality programs and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, related technical field, or comparable and relevant experience
- 10-15 years' experience in Maintenance and/or Engineering capacity in a manufacturing environment
- 3-5 years' experience in technical leadership, Project Engineering/Management, and with development and justification of Capital Expenditure projects and plans
- Ability to read, write and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and facility layout drawings
- CAD experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Understanding and application of maintenance management software
- Understanding and application of preventive and reliability centered maintenance concepts
- Understanding and application of machine safety concepts and risk assessment (ANSI B11 and ISO 13849) a plus
- Understanding and application of NFPA 70B & E a plus
- Fluent in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Project
