What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Architect (Architect III) / Senior Project Manager position at WORTHGROUP Architects & Designers?
The primary responsibility of a Senior Project Architect/Manager (Sr. PA/PM) is to lead specific architectural and design projects, or portions of projects undertaken by the Firm. The role oversees quality, completeness, contract and standards compliance, as well as project budgets and schedules. Inherent within this primary responsibility, oversight and staff assignments are key elements that are requisite for design, documentation and administration of each project. The Sr. PA/PM is the main point of contact for the Owner, Contractor(s) and Consultant(s) and is accountable for all aspects of project team’s performance and outcomes. The Sr. PA/PM may be a licensed architect or a qualified, experienced team leader (requiring a licensed architect to provide input and stamp drawings).

The ideal individual must have the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- Candidates with 10 years of experience are strongly preferred.
- Experience with complex large-scale hospitality and gaming, mixed-use, and/or multifamily projects preferred.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement Firm objectives and practice direction provided by Leadership.
- Lead the architectural and production teams under WORTHGROUP standards to ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule.
- Capable of advising, guiding and collaborating with clients, consultants, and internal staff.
- Complete project assignments delegated by Studio Leadership.
- Monitor and maintain billings, staffing, contracts, job cost reports, payments, consultants, client relations and technical progress for each delegated project.
- Manage strategic and operational relationships with project’s client, consultant network, and additional critical stakeholders.
- Produce construction documents and drawings of exceptional quality that meet Firm standards and ensure all deliverables are complete, accurate, technically correct, constructible, visually appealing, RFI-avert and free of errors and omissions.
- Capable of addressing any issues or problems that do arise with a proactive, solutions-based approach.
- Support the development of project staff to prepare them for increased roles and responsibilities.
- Recommend project staffing needs, training and modifications.
- Mentor new professional staff regarding WORTHGROUP production standards.
- Develop full understanding of scope, program, schedule and budget for the project.
- Offer feedback regarding direct project subordinates for performance evaluations and reviews.
- Perform as Project Executive on projects as necessary.
- Review drawing sets prior to release for graphics, standards and content completion.
- Coordinate with Business Development staff to prepare or review the proposal and assist with the sales and marketing duties necessary to bring in the project, including the creation and submission of RFP’s and RFQ’s. Once a new project is awarded, coordinate with Finance and Studio leadership on transition to billable project including job set-up and establishing contracts for the project.
- Prepare project-specific strategic plans for project success.
- Conduct and lead design team meetings with clients and/or consultants throughout the project.
- Ongoing review of documents for coordination across all disciplines.
- Perform QA/QC and technical reviews at project milestones.
