Role Description
The Field Scout is a volunteer, community-based role focused on identifying veterans who may not be receiving the VA benefits and support they have earned. The Scout builds trust, starts conversations, and connects veterans with the Worth Their Weight team for further assistance.
Responsibilities
- Identify and engage veterans in your local community.
- Build trust and have respectful conversations with veterans.
- With the veteran’s permission, refer them to our team.
- Maintain occasional follow-up with referred veterans.
- Protect veterans’ privacy and confidentiality.
- Represent Worth Their Weight professionally in the community.
Qualifications
- 18 years or older.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable approaching and speaking with people in the community.
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to helping veterans.
- Willing to commit to the role long-term.
- Background check and reference required.
- Training provided.
