Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Emergency Room Nurse to join our fast-paced, high-energy healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history collection to determine acuity levels and prioritize care.
- Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, and medication administration with precision and adherence to protocols.
- Manage airway maintenance, ventilator support, and critical care interventions for trauma or critically ill patients.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently throughout the care process.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results to inform treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists (such as cardiology or infectious disease), and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Execute emergency procedures including ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), neonatal resuscitation procedures, and trauma medicine protocols as needed.
- Ensure infection control practices are maintained through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
- Provide patient education on discharge instructions, medication use, pain management strategies, and follow-up care plans.
Experience
- Prior experience working in emergency medicine or level I/II trauma centers is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
- Critical care experience including ICU or PICU settings is advantageous for handling complex cases.
- Knowledge of advanced life support techniques including basic life support (BLS) and ventilator management.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), laboratory procedures, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Strong understanding of trauma medicine, acute pain management, infectious disease care, and hospice & palliative medicine principles is desirable.
