What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Warehouse Assistant position at Worldnet International Couriers Inc?
Job Purpose
The Temporary Warehouse Assistant is responsible for aiding the Ops specialists and senior specialists with all warehouse functions while ensuring that all shipments are prepared for export in compliance with the outlined rules and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Email/Communication
- Respond to internal and external emails timely and in a professional manner.

- MS teams
- Communicate with internal departments for queries, additional shipping document information needed and shipment related issues.
Lightening
- Receive all shipments that arrive at the facility comparing what physically arrives to the return to depot sheet and completing via shipment -> workflow.
- Assist with capture of weight and dimensions for all export shipments by using the dimming conveyor machine. If parcels are oversized weight and dimensions must be recorded manually and logged into Lightening.
- Ensure that all shipments are labelled and packaged securely for export and delivery.
- Bag, tag, and secure all exporting shipments w/courier bags utilizing seals, tamper evident tape, and zip ties.
- Assign tender and recovery vendor, agent, and or driver to action the completion of that task.
Additional Tasks
- The upkeep of the warehouse workspaces and operational areas, to include the dumping of the trash receptacles, organization of pallets, inventory of boxes, bags, and other warehouse supplies. Discarding trash into compactor/dumpsters if applicable.
- Prepare shipments for flight exports, utilizing courier bags, labels, and tamper evident tapes, while ensuring items are secured for lodge to airlines, drivers, and agents.
- Replenishment of workstation supplies for daily use bags, boxes, labels, markers, zip ties, seals, etc.
- Any additional duties assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- No prior work experience required.
- Possess a motor vehicle driver’s license.
- Team-first mindset with an initiative-taking approach.
- Baseline knowledge of MS Office, Window OS, and internet usage/research
- Data entry and the ability to manipulate information with precision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.

- Effective time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently while managing multiple projects/tasks/systems simultaneously.
Working Conditions
- Flexibility with shift/schedule
- Work primarily in a warehouse and office setting.
- Wearing safety PPE (boots, uniforms, safety vest, personal detection device)
- This role may require overtime, afterhours, weekends, and/or holidays based on Worldnet business needs.
