What are the responsibilities and job description for the The INN: Youth Worker position at World Team?
The position of Youth Worker will help facilitate The INN’s goal of planting multiplying churches in unreached diaspora communities throughout the Unites States, in cooperation with established INN teams. Youth Workers will participate in and expand the work of the ministry by developing and supporting programs that focus on children, youth, and young adults, while fostering deeper connections with family units.
Youth Workers are currently needed in Metro Philadelphia, Savannah, Houston, Central PA, and South Florida.
The Youth Worker will develop and coordinate ministry among children, youth, and young adults in their assigned community. They will address the significant challenges of reaching first and second-generation diaspora children and youth as they acclimate to life in the US.
Workers will provide ministry oversight and direction for community connections, outreach, discipleship, and youth meetings that are age and culturally appropriate. The goal is to attract, win, disciple, and equip children and youth through regular one-to-one and group interactions, Bible study, worship, service, and outreach. Youth Workers will serve as spiritual leaders and role models.
To effectively serve children, youth, and young adults, workers need both passion and skill to reach them with the gospel, and to disciple and equip them. Cross-cultural experience is beneficial, along with a sense of urgency for reaching the unreached diaspora in the US.

Ideal Youth Worker Competencies Include
- Mature Christian: Evidence Christ-like character with a humble spirit and a listening heart
- Theological Training: Formal training is beneficial, but not required
- Knowledge: Youth ministry, discipleship, and education concepts and methods
- Administrative and Logistical Skills: Develop and coordinate ministry schedules, manage volunteer assignments, and supervise day-to-day activities of youth, etc.
- Training and Development: Effective communication skills to provide training for children and youth locally and in conjunction with the local team
- Experience: 3- 5 years’ experience or training in Youth Ministry
- Plan, develop, and implement a balanced youth ministry program and curriculum for Elementary, Jr. and Sr. High students, and young adults
- Personally invest in children and youth by spending quality time with them, loving them unconditionally, mentoring, teaching, and discipling them, equipping them to grow spiritually, and guiding them toward a future of serving the Lord
- Recruit and help train volunteers, ensuring adequate adult-to-youth ratios to effectively support the children, youth, and young adult ministries
- Maintain records of youth participation and manage the youth ministry budget
- Communicate with children, youth, and parents in a timely manner, using all available resources to foster mutual support with the families of the children served
