Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.POSITION SUMMARY:This position will provide case management services to immigrant families including services such as applying for public benefits, accessing medical care, assisting children to enroll in school, providing referrals to external organizations, and ongoing community orientation, crisis response, driving with clients.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct comprehensive assessments with immigrant families to assess needs and barriers, and to facilitate connections to appropriate services for meeting identified needs. Assist asylum seeking families in accessing and understanding public benefits such as Medicaid, All Kids, VTTC and WIC. Orient participants to the healthcare system including making appointments, arranging transportation, and communicating important information to physicians. Provide education/orientation to families regarding their new surroundings in the city of Chicago. Assist immigrants in scheduling and attending appointments with social service and medical providers, at times providing transportation Maintain timely and accurate client files, case notes, and reporting records Actively participate in department meetings and program trainings Other duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:Mature and personal Christian faithCommitted to the mission, vision, and values of World ReliefDesire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communitiesAble to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation documentBilingual (Spanish or Arabic preferred due to client/community needs) Valid driver’s license, and ability/willingness to drive minivan and/or 15-passenger van required Proficient in Microsoft OfficePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and ability to work independentlyAdaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment  Knowledge of the immigrant experience highly preferred  Strong mediation and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal and relational skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow through on projects and assignments  Experience and/or training in working with traumatized populations or trauma informed care Desire to engage the local church in partnership with our service to asylum seekers  Demonstrated ability to multi-task, problem solve, and exercise critical thinking skills  Willingness to advocate on behalf of clients with service providers, and governmental organizationsWorld Relief offers a competitive benefits package and employee discount program for full-time, Regular, and part-time (25 hours per week) employees World Relief is honored to be recognized with the Gold-level Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation for exceeding the core components of our well-being program including leadership and culture, program foundations and execution, and whole person health. ***Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
