POSITION SUMMARY

World of Illumination (WOI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Foreman to lead the installation and teardown of WOI’s renowned Holiday Drive-Through Light Shows. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of event install and breakdown, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards, timelines, and quality expectations. The Event Foreman will manage an installation/teardown crew, coordinate with vendors, and serve as the primary on-site point of contact, ensuring seamless operations from start to finish.

In addition to overseeing event logistics, the Event Foreman has the exciting opportunity to contribute to the show itself, potentially stepping into a Show Technician role during park operations. This involves ensuring the smooth running of live shows, addressing technical issues, and maintaining the integrity of the guest experience throughout the event’s duration.

Job is from October 27 - November 13th, with Training the week of October 14th. Attendance to training is required.

  • Hands-On Expertise: Adept in working alongside the crew during the physical installation and teardown processes, ensuring all tasks are completed according to plan.
  • Technical Proficiency: Possesses the technical skills necessary to step into the role of Show Technician if required, overseeing show operations and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation & Teardown Oversight

  • Lead and supervise the installation and teardown process for WOI’s drive-through light shows, ensuring all activities are completed on time and in accordance with plans and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with your supervisor and design team to review blueprints, guides, and schedules before installation to ensure full preparation and coordination.
  • Manage the unloading of materials, assembly of structures, distribution of power and data lines, and all aspects of scenery and technical setup.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all safety protocols, ensuring the crew operates in a safe and compliant manner at all times.
  • Ensure the proper handling of assets, tools, and equipment, enforcing inventory control procedures and overseeing the organization of work areas.

Team Management & Training

  • Recruit, manage, and lead a temporary installation crew, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing feedback to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Conduct daily briefings to outline goals, safety procedures, and daily tasks, fostering clear communication and team alignment.
  • Train crew members on specific installation and teardown procedures, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  • Provide performance feedback, enforcing accountability and addressing any non-compliance or substandard performance.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for vendors, ensuring they understand access points, logistics, schedules, and equipment placement.
  • Oversee all vendor activities to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards, escalating issues to your supervisor if necessary.
  • Liaise with site inspectors, collaborating with internal teams to address any concerns or compliance issues during setup and teardown.

Administrative & Reporting Duties

  • Ensure all required documentation, including progress reports, inventory logs, and timesheets, are completed accurately and on time.
  • Communicate effectively via email, Slack, and project management software (such as Monday.com), ensuring the flow of information between teams is seamless.
  • Provide daily progress updates to the Operations Manager, highlighting any issues or areas for improvement.

Post-Event Teardown & Site Restoration

  • Lead the teardown process, ensuring all equipment is packed safely, labeled, and prepared for transportation according to company guidelines.
  • Ensure the site is cleared of debris, trash, or materials and restored to its original condition, meeting any venue-specific requirements.
  • Conduct a final inventory of all assets and materials to ensure nothing is missing or damaged.

Show Technician Responsibilities (If Needed)

  • As part of event staff, the Event Foreman may also serve as a Show Technician, overseeing technical elements of the show during operations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot technical aspects of the show, including lighting, sound, and special effects, ensuring smooth performance and immediate resolution of issues.
  • Work with the technical team to ensure that all equipment is maintained, repaired as needed, and fully operational throughout the event.

QUALIFICATIONS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Education:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional vocational training, technical courses, or relevant experience in project management, safety protocols, or logistics is highly desirable.

Certifications:

  • Forklift and Aerial Lift certifications are required for this role.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position demands extensive physical activity, including standing for long periods and operating heavy machinery such as forklifts.
  • Must be capable of walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Comfortable working at heights greater than 15 feet, with the ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Able to tolerate loud noise levels and fast-paced, busy environments.
  • This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold, and heat.

Schedule Flexibility:

  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays as needed to meet event deadlines.
  • Have the ability to travel as or if needed, including for training purposes.

  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership in high-stress environments while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $1,600.00 - $1,730.00 per week
