Position Summary  

WMF is seeking a qualified professional for the role of Associate Director of Development Operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our global development processes, including data entry, portfolio management, data flow, and reporting systems that support our fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Senior Director of Individual Giving and Development Operations, the Associate Director of Development Operations will play a key role in overseeing WMF’s donor database (Raiser’s Edge NXT) and optimizing our fundraising and donor management systems. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic thinking to enhance our fundraising capabilities processes.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary administrator for Raiser’s Edge NXT and related systems (Omatic Cloud, Classy), ensuring accurate donor records, gift entry, acknowledgements, queries, lists, and reporting 
  • Manage current Senior Database Coordinator 
  • Collaborate with frontline fundraisers to create an efficient portfolio management system. 
  • Design an operational moves management system to capture all donor touch points 
  • Integrate prospect research into a robust international membership and global stewardship program 
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and consistency of donor data, and maintain internal protocols and manuals for database use 
  • Manage the importing/exporting of data across platforms  
  • Provide training and support to staff on database usage, reporting tools, and development operations best practices  
  • Create and maintain mailing lists and segmentation for development communications and campaigns 
  • Serve as liaison to IT for all Development team system needs  
  • Assist frontline staff with transaction support, donor calls, real-time problem solving, and donation/grant requests involving portals  
  • Provide assistance with reporting needs across departments  
  • Lead special projects related to development operations improvement and innovation  

 

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in development operations or similar role within a nonprofit organization  
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM systems  
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data management and reporting  
  • Experience with donor research and tracking movements management processes 
  • Experience with gift processing and fundraising operations  
  • Understanding of digital fundraising platforms and integration methods  
  • Knowledge of fundraising ethics and best practices  
  • Strong project and time management abilities with attention to detail 
  • Proactivity to get into the details and problem-solve within small team  
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, accurately, and concisely  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively  

 

Preferred Skills  

  • Training in database management or relevant technical qualifications  
  • Knowledge of advanced reporting tools and data visualization software  
  • Experience with International Organizations and Donor Communities. 
  • Ability to conceptualize new strategies, workflows, practices, and processes  
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office suite: Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, etc
