What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Zamboni Driver position at World Ice Arena/City Ice Pavilion?
World Ice Arena, an ice skating rink located in Flushing, NY and City Ice Pavilion, an ice skating rink located in Long Island City, are each looking for an experienced Zamboni Driver, starting immediately.
Primary responsibilities include driving the Zamboni correctly and safety according to a fixed daily schedule, to ensure and maintain acceptable ice conditions. Applicant must be completely familiar with Zamboni operations on and off the ice, including but not limited to edging and crosscuts, changing blade as needed and battery maintenance.
Secondary responsibilities include light management duties, engine readings, daily facility maintenance, including small maintenance projects, keeping all areas of the facility, including entrances and exits, neat, clean and safe plus trash removal.
In addition, the Zamboni Driver must interact with rink staffers and customers and build a cordial relationship with them. This job requires patience, communication, interpersonal skills and an attention to detail.
Both rinks are located near public transportation and major highways and are easily accessible via public transportation.
