World Explorers Brooklyn provides year-round programs for children ages 2–10, including preschool, afterschool, school break camps, and summer camps. Our mission is to create safe, engaging, and inspiring environments where children learn through play, creativity, and exploration.
We’re looking for passionate, organized, and community-driven leaders to join our team as a Site Lead (full-time) or Assistant Site Lead (part-time) to help deliver high quality programming and support staff, students, and families.
Position: Site Lead (Full-Time)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
Salary: $42,000–$45,000 annually
Overview:
The Site Lead is responsible for overseeing all program operations. This hands-on leadership role ensures a safe, organized, and enriching environment for children while mentoring staff and managing administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily program operations, maintaining a safe, engaging, and structured environment.
- Mentor and supervise staff to deliver high-quality activities and positive classroom management.
- Manage attendance, enrollment, and check-in/out systems (Brightwheel).
- Maintain DOH and DOE compliance, health, and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with families, school personnel, and the World Explorers team.
- Support a collaborative, inclusive, and creative team culture.
- Coordinate school and community events, family meetings, and professional development.
- Oversee site organization, supplies, and staff scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in youth development, afterschool, or camp programs, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to support children’s social-emotional growth and guide positive behavior.
- Familiarity with NYC DOH and DOE childcare regulations a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
Position: Assistant Site Lead (Part-Time)
Schedule: up to 30 hours/week (Monday–Friday Flexibility available)
Pay: $20–$22/hour
Overview:
The Assistant Site Lead supports the Site Lead in managing program operations and mentoring staff. This role combines hands-on interaction with children with administrative support and ensures smooth program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Site Lead in supervising staff and students.
- Support planning and delivery of daily activities.
- Help maintain attendance, check-in/out procedures, and program documentation.
- Assist with DOH/DOE compliance and safety standards.
- Support staff with behavior management, training, and professional development.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture.
- Help maintain an organized, welcoming site environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or enrollment preferred.
- Experience working with children in school, camp, or youth program settings.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to commit to the school year schedule.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
